Procrastination. Half hour of working on my thesis. Procrastination. Food.
Adding 5 pages to my website and a post on someone else's site. Procrastination.
Calculating my potential GPA if I don't do well on finals (instead of studying
for the finals). Thinking about how I want to play pool. Thinking about how I
want to add more pages to my website. Making fun of pics on Whimit.
Procrastination. I need to make a May page!
Friday, April 29th
Went to see Nightwatch (Nochnoj Dozor), at the Tribeca
Film Festival.
Fun flick.
Somewhere along the lines of Lord of the Rings meets The Matrix. Also a trilogy,
in fact (that was the first part).
After the movies...
Eugene tries to make my list of Whimit photos (clearly he doesn't need to try
hard)
The elusive Maya.
Deciding on what to do after the movies.
In the end, The Edge, as always. This time, alcohol combined with geek talk,
including lens aperture debates and mental video game playing.

Productive procrastination. Can't work? Add more features to
website.
To the left, notice a
tagboard. Say something (not "something").

That last comment triggered some giggles...
Sunday, April 24th
Quite an exciting weekend. I spent the whole weekend thinking about how I
have to write my paper, so I didn't really go out (except to play pool, but I
don't even count that as going out anymore). So in the end, I spent the weekend
doing nothing but thinking about how I have to be doing something.
And now I feel compelled to write something.

Also, visit this week's random pic of the week and
random link of the week (see left border).

Eugene and
I hung out at my apartment, drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and eating meat,
like real men do. Or something like that.

Friday, April 22nd
NYU Undergraduate
Research Conference

Above, some of the talks and
posters from the conference.
You can download the program
HERE.
Some thoughts..
It was a fun experience. My talk felt a bit different,
though, because the audience wasn't anyone from the honors class.
Instead it was comprised of people from the
linguistics department, which made it seem more "real", not that it wasn't real,
but in general it was less informative than a regular conference since we were
all pretty much just there to support each other, and all knew what everyone
else's projects were about.
There were a few people whose research I wasn't
familiar with though, and that was interesting.
Congratulations to everyone who presented, thanks to
everyone who attended.
And I didn't want a picture of myself while I was giving my talk, because I thought
it might be weird, it's not like, a concert, or graduation. So here I am
somewhere afterwards. Not even NYU.
Well, that's not important.
Later that evening...
Ice cream and writing in the international phonetics alphabet.

And later still...
At The Edge

Outside...

Wednesday, April 20th

Mike's hair got butchered. Even Matt is crying.

Summer's here.
Monday, April 18th
No one's been reading my site, I'm sure of it. So I've been getting lazy
putting stuff up.
Below, another day in the life of awkwardness...

Mariya attempts to cook, Matt attempts to joke, Mike
attempts to officially move in and I attempt to do work in the midst
of this.

Above, one sleepless night after another working on my
90 single spaced page thesis (oh yeah, I'll post it in pdf when it's revised
just cause I have nothing better to do than show people that one can write a
hundred pages on a single sound), caused me to fall asleep in my Philosophy
class. Whilst half asleep and still taking notes, I managed to include excerpts
of my thesis. Sleeeeeep. Neeeeed sleeep.
Sunday, April 17th
Back to Saturday's topic of health.
Over the years, Americans have become more and more
concerned with health. The burger joints have been replaced by fruit smoothie
and falafel stands. For each category of the food pyramid, there is some diet
banning it. Not to mention Vegans, who eat grass or something. Hell, even
McDonalds came out with McVeggie burger.
I am as concerned about the amount
of fat people in this country as everybody else, so I put together a summary of
the most important tips to weight loss:
1. Don't finish everything on your plate.

2. Don't keep food lying around on the table,
especially junk food.

3. Likewise, don't keep junk food in the refrigerator.
Stuff it with healthy snacks like carrots, celery sticks, and apple slices.

4. Don't snack between meals, but if you have to,
snack on something healthy.

5. Minimize your intake of caffeine.

6. Finally remember, if you eat healthy, you will feel
healthy and look healthy! And if you ever see anything unusual, make an
appointment with your personal doctor ASAP!

Healthy living, ya'll!
Saturday, April 16th
Topic of the day: Health. I'll get back to that after I finish
my Doritos. For now, new conversation I "oversaw":
