Tuesday, May 31st

 Lana's Honors College Graduation

Held at the Cooper Union Great Hall

People giving different speeches, a.k.a. the same speech with the help of a thesaurus

Hillary Clinton

Her speech wasn't that bad though... but we were hoping she would suddenly announce her candidacy for President

Other people who found the graduation as interesting as I did.

Lana gets her diploma. Actually, a certificate. The diploma is mailed later. As always.

The reception:

Tall person.

And afterwards, we went up on the roof of Cooper Union. My second roof in the last 4 days.

Mariya the barbarian, eating with her hands. Mmmm...gross...

   The edge. The other one.

Views from Cooper Union

People who I told will be on my website

Climbing upon Peter Cooper.

Random people we saw.

Sunday, May 29th

I went to a party.

A party where cameras are forbidden.

Saturday, May 28th

Random people entering my house. To tell me the stories of their night,

Awesome gifts.

Leftover liquor from Anthony's house.

Lots of flowers.

One of the most optimistic birthday cards I've received (save the "Say it with booze" gift wrapping from my pool friends). Thank you Jane.

Some people ended up in Brooklyn. Some people ended up in the middle of the homeless sector of the Bronx. Some ended up in Jersey. One person went to New Orleans. And many slept in my house.

***

And later on...

Wild Spirits. Uptown on 96th St.

The leftover people in my apartment went to see Invidia play at this metal show. And I came as well.

Invidia is awesome. The singer is this drunk destructive hater, the guitarists are amazing, and more amazing because they climb up and play on top of the bar, the bassist is awesome, too, plus he doesn't stand in the corner like most bassists, and it was his birthday, and the drummer, well..., we never know anything about the drummer anyway.

So after the metal show, a bunch of us went to Red Square, the Communist building on Houston, to Ellen's party.

For the record, Ellen is awesome.

And Ellen, I'm so sorry for the 20 metal-heads who accompanied me to your great party.

And as things always go, and as they should, we ended up in my house instead.

"We should do this again some time."

Friday, May 27th

   My birthday.

     Lunch at Serafina.

Serafina on Lafayette.

People inside of Serafina

Free champagne, hehehe.

Not free food.

..

Pretty flowers.

My party at the Edge

Pretty people.

The roommates. Alas, not for long.

My first band.

Alex, somehow always in the background...

Cake.

Kevin, the master of Irish car bombs. Serafina, the learner. But so far away.

Saturday, May 21st

Ahhh vodka, the Russian remedy for colds.

I don't think I drank enough...

DON'T CENSOR ME!

Went out to Williamsburg, to my favorite Thai restaurant, Sea.

(They were dumb enough to seat us by the water...)

  Mmmm...warm spicy beer stuff...

   Mike and Mariya

Paul and I

The sexy drinking contest:

Try again Paul

Round II:

Rice cones

So this is why they were dumb enough to seat us by the pool:

Free pool tonight with all those quarters!

And thumbs up to Mariya for spraying water on the girl behind me

Rain? No. We just look awesome.

And random picture of the full moon to top the night.

Friday, May 20th

Went to a hookah place in Astoria.

Wednesday, May 18th

Went for a walk through Battery Park today.

'

A piece of Corporate Art from the World Trade Center, and one of those never dying out flames.

I sat by the fountain in the financial district reading, and I didn't even notice just how loud it was. I'm reading this travel book right now, where the author goes to some island in the Midwest that doesn't have cars and he wrote about how deadly the quiet was. And here I am reading that, sitting in that measly "park" (more like the center of a traffic circle) in the middle of the financial district of NYC

Mr. Seagull, rat of the sky, rodent of the sea.

Ellis Island, on the left, and the Statue of Liberty, on the right. Fact: The Statue of Liberty used to be gold, but became green from all that surrounding water (I learned that during my fourth grade play!). Fact: The Statue of Liberty is on Liberty Island, not Ellis Island. Sadly, I learned that only last year, while reading those signs along the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Staten Island Ferry, perfect cruise vacation for college students, free of charge

And other pretty stuff. So concludes my journey.

Tuesday, May 17th

Unnecessary Draw wins the Playoffs!

Monday, May 16th

Stacy: deep inside
there is a tumor in all of us

Sunday, May 15th

   We lost the playoffs =(

But we'll be back to win next season!

Because we are still awesome.

Thursday, May 12th

Commencement

Each school cheers for its representative receiving diploma.

Everyone boos Stern hahahaha

Put those worms down, Gallatin!

Mmmm....kitty...

More NYU traditions, including passing the torch, and again the lingerie singers (though thankfully a little more appropriately dressed this time), with "New York, New York"

And another interesting highlight: I didn't capture this on camera, but there is a tradition with the School of Medicine to take an oath, an oath that has been taken by graduating doctors for 2000 years or something. So, the representative said the oath, and asked that the students repeat it. That's right, they didn't. It was amusing.

~

Later that day, the Psychology Honors Awards Ceremony.

~

Went to White Rabbit with my mom for the Adelphi graduation party.

Small world. A professor from our Psych Honors Program was there. His wife was in my mom's class, it turns out.

Wednesday, May 11th

Grad Alley

First, BBQs...

Notice the ratio of Cooper Union to NYU

mmm... evil Mariya.

Lame fireworks

At some bar, spying

Yikes, I'm caught!

Cooper Union party on a roof...

The random, the unrandom, and the semirandom

So I'm talking to Random Guy, and when I tell him my name, he asks, "Are you the Serafina with the website?" How awesome is that.

The Empire State Building was purple that night, in honor of NYU graduation. Mmmm...power...

And I found Michelle somewhere...

Tuesday, May 10th

College of Arts and Sciences Graduation Ceremony

`           On the train, in our gowns, because we are awesome.

Our Dean, Matthew Santirocco

Our President, John Sexton

Our Valedictorian. Mmmm...motivation...

Guest speaker, guy with Brooklyn accent.

Mariya talks to her boyfriend...mmm...gross...

Mid-ceremonial fantasies...

Each student gets "individually recognized", a.k.a. they needed to kill time.

Post-graduation celebration at BBQs...

Playoffs Week 1: Unnecessary Draw vs. Stick It In (our team)

My exciting life- running to watch the Season Premiere of Family Guy.

Yeah, they don't look very jolly, but that's because it was a commercial break (do you really think I'd be looking anywhere else besides the TV screen during the show?)

        hehe.

Later that night, George and Adrian come over.
